News & Updates

November 29th, 2010

Finally, our 2010 update is here! Caitlin is now learning how to update the website herself, as it has been complicated in the past in an html format. I hope everyone can be patient that I can't do monthly updates all the time! I will not be getting a facebook page for Hanlon Pet Haven for this reason. We keep our place small scale so that the dogs get the more personal attention. Snow landed on the ground after Thanksgiving and fortunately we landscaped the grounds so that they were ready in position for the ground to freeze it permanantly till spring. All the dirt around the fencing and gates needed to be dug out or repositioned. Martin moved dirt around in the yard with his new tractor since erosion causes it all to move downhill toward the back fence. The old tire swing was taken off the tree and the tire buried upright in the ground. We are officially ready for the snow this year, so we shall see what nature brings us to contend with.

Its has been a long time since we gave any updates but computer work gets put on the back burner while we are busy with other projects. The dog yard was expanded and the dogs love the extra freedom so they can really get running fast during games of chase. There are even patches of grass that managed to survive the whole summer! The dogs love the shade of the trees within the yard and it was beautiful this fall as the sugar maples dropped their colorful leaves all over the ground. Many dogs enjoy digging in all the plentiful sand. The yard is like a giant sandbox and we let them dig in most areas. It is a lot of work filling in all these holes, but the dogs surely feel that they are at a vacation resort where they can release all their doggy instincts and later return back home tired. The cat porch’s exterior siding is nearing completion, its been an on going project all summer. Winter is almost here, as we had a few inches land during the first week of November! We will try to update more frequently and have plenty of picts to add soon.

Time Lapse Videos!!

The ground is now frozen and covered in snow. The dogs have been having a great time outside, romping and playing in the snow. The dogs go in and out throughout the day to keep warm. They enjoy the changes in scenery and the plethora of indoor toys.

Kitty Castle's construction is coming along nicely. All of the new insulated windows have been installed. The Purry Palace Playroom has three great windows. One window goes from floor to ceiling providing great views while climbing the cat tree. There is a new sun garden window for the cats to lay in the sun. Each kitty condo has its own private window for viewing the client path and bird feeders below. Please see the Kitty Castle section of the website for more detailed information about cat boarding.

We have some new time lapse videos for your viewing pleasure. Check out the new videos on the time lapse video page.

It's been a long time...

Well HPH has been extremely busy this spring and summer so please excuse the lack of updates.

Kitty Castle is under construction with an upgraded and insulated room with a great picture window so the cats can watch as the dogs romp in the yard.

We are planning on extending the dog yard this fall as well updating some of the interior.
